Make It Happen

Run A Pi K is an effort to encourage running, philanthropy and the love of Pi

Running

Running an actual Pi K would be a 3.14K which is less than 2 miles, great for any age and ability.  But you know Pi is a non repeating irrational number so you can run any distance.  A Pi K can be part of an organized race that you’ve already signed up for.  Or a Pi K can be your regular jog on your local bike path.  Or it could be a small group of 3.14 friends who get together to celebrate the irrationality of numbers and running.

Philanthropy

Half of the registration fee at Run a Pi K goes to your favorite school.  Not just our partner charities we support but your favorite school.  An instant fundraiser!  Register at RunAPiK.org and once your completion results are received you will be sent the amazing Pi K medallion and online access or a mail-in form to let us know which school to send the proceeds.

STEM

We can’t say enough about how much we love not just Pi, but Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math.  The STEM fields that are so awesome and amazing.  Run a Pi K helps people bridge the gap between STEM and physical health.  Athletics is just applied science and math with our own physical bodies.

This is where your help comes in. We are trying to raise funds to cover the cost of creating the awesome bling associated with finishing a race. Something unique and memorable for the first ever Pi K. Your support of this endeavor will get us started in creating the materials to help groups organize a run of any distance and create their own Pi K event. We will also be able to reach out to events already organized to enable them to have their runners enhance their experience by turning it into a personal Pi K. Depending on how well we are funded, we have stretch goals of creating a non-profit dedicated to 1) bridging the gap between physical fitness and traditional STEM interested youth as well as sponsoring PiK events throughout the year and throughout the world.

What is a Pi K?

A Pi Day Event

Pi Day is celebrated on March 14th (3/14) around the world.

Our friends at PiDay.org help promote and organize events world wide on March 14 (3/14) in celebration, appreciation, and recognition of how amazing the concept of Pi is. We join them in this effort by promoting running events to coincide with this date as an effort to raise funds for charities you love. Find out more information at PiDay.org

Run a 5K, 10K, Marathon, any distance really, on Pi Day and call it a Pi K. You see, Pi is an irrational number, just like many of our friends and spouses think our decision to run can be. But like an irrational number, it never repeats, so you get to choose the distance you want to run and run it on Pi Day and call it a Pi K!
